Led by nyckelharpa player Renee Vaughan, Nordstär Ensemble brings together a constellation of exceptional local musicians—each one a shining star—carefully chosen to match the spirit and setting of your event. The name Nordstär reflects both our Minnesota roots and the Nordic direction of our sound. 
Vårvinder brings a fresh blend of jazz inspiration to traditional Nordic melodies. The group features Oliver Hunter (saxophone), Mattie Snyder (cello), Mary Cait Bayliss (violin) and Renee Vaughan (nyckelharpa)
Renee Vaughan and the Skandibears Orkester play lively Nordic dance tunes including polska, hambo, schottis, sønderhoning, polka, waltz and more.  Their unique pack of instruments has included nyckelharpa, hardingfele, fiddle, accordion, guitar, cittern, pipes, and washboard—a pawsitively delightful treat to listen and dance to!  
The McNordiques blend the rich musical traditions of French, Scandinavian, and Celtic cultures into a seamless tapestry of melody and rhythm. With Renee Vaughan on nyckelharpa, Dan Newton on accordion, and Tom Klein on uilleann pipes and cittern, their music takes listeners on a journey through centuries of folk traditions, celebrating the unique charm of each style along the way. 
FYRA performs traditional Nordic music with fresh arrangements, showcasing works connected to women musicians like Finland’s Maria Helena Spoof, Sweden’s Christina Bruun and Ida Gustafsson, and Norway’s Ingunn Bjørgo. Members include award-winning musicians recognized for their contributions to Nordic and traditional music:  Renee Vaughan (nyckelharpa,) Sarah Pradt (hardingfele,) Laura MacKenzie (flute and säckpipa) ​and Erin Walsh (cello)
